Katie Fforde (b. September 27, 1952 in England, UK) is an British romance novelist since 1995.
She is founder of the Katie Fforde Bursary for writers who have yet to secure a publishing contract. She was for many years a committee member of the Romantic Novelists' Association and was elected its twenty-fifteenth Chairman (2009-2011).
Katie married with Desmond Fforde, cousin of author Jasper Fforde. She had three children: Guy, Francis and Briony. She did not start writing until she had moved there and had the third of her three children.
Most of Katie's experiences, however minor, tend to end up in her books. Her novel Going Dutch was a Sunday Times top ten bestseller in June 2007.
Katie has lived near Stroud, Gloucestershire for over twenty years. Her hobbies include singing in the local choir, shopping and watching television.
